Salt Smokehouse: The Heart of BBQ Flavors in Huntsville

Loved the atmosphere, my server was so nice and polite I wish I had got her name. I ordered the Brisket sandwich and fries and the Texas twinkies. The twinkies were so delicious. Cooked just right, easy to eat without having to rip it apart. My brisket sandwich was perfect. Absolutely yummy! The price for the 2 items was a little bit pricey, but it was really good so I'll be back. I really want to try the duck wings. It would also be nice to have a selection of cocktails or beer to go with it.

Visited Salt Smokehouse recently and had a solid experience overall. I sat at the bar and was pleased with how attentive and nearby the staff were throughout my visit. Great service makes a big difference. I ordered a steak, which was cooked well to my requested temperature, but the flavor didn’t quite wow me. The mashed potatoes, however, were absolutely delicious—creamy and flavorful. The green beans tasted fine, but the portion size was surprisingly small. Please see my picture for reference. All in all, a good spot with a nice atmosphere, great service, and a few standout items. With a little more attention to sides and seasoning, it could easily be a five-star experience.

Wow. What an outstanding meal. Everything we tried was excellent. We tried the BBQ nachos, summer salad, brisket, Brussels sprouts and fries. Each dish was better than the last. Not a single disappointing bite to be found. I used to live in Huntsville and this is the only reason I would want to move back! Star of the show was our server Emmanuel! He was a delight. Informed about the menu, gave great recommendations and just made for an excellent dining experience. Chairs were comfortable and a lovely vibe inside. If you’re in the area, you simply must eat here!

Drove from Birmingham to try after seeing the menu. Emmanuel was our server and from the start he was amazing. He made suggestions and answered questions honestly. The atmosphere is full of natural light and great smells. Beautiful, clean and welcoming. Everything we ordered had amazing flavor, can not say anything was a miss. Started with truffle fries and brisket fritters. I highly recommend the brisket fritters! For the entree we had the Motherclucker sandwich with brussel sprouts (smokey, juicy, amazing!!) and the brussel sprouts were delicious, little kick and lots of flavor. We also ordered bulgogi cheesesteak ( flavor packed, and perfectly made). Between the amazing taste and absolutely perfect server, this is now our top favorite 10/10, highly recommend

Great server. Very clean restaurant. The pulled pork was amazing. Portions were large. Do not leave without getting the peanuts. My only slight bit of criticism was a couple of items needed a smidge more salt. Specifically the grilled chicken sandwich and the fries. Whatever ketchup brand they use is not salty so that didn't help with the fries. The flavor of the fries was fantastic however.

Absolutely loved lunch here. The brisket fritters are more like fried cheese balls stuffed with brisket, but it was delicious. The sliced brisket was luscious and tender. I'm of the opinion that proper brisket requires no sauce, and this did not. I did order the peach sauce to give it a try. It was excellent with the crispy brussel sprouts. And their beef tallow fries are easily the best in the city. Oh, the peach cheesecake was phenomenal. I'm looking forward to another visit.

Recently moved to Huntsville and have been trying different restaurants around town. This one has definitely moved to the top of our list. Everything we got was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing, especially the wonton nachos and Brussels sprouts. Our server, Sarah, was a sweetheart and was super helpful in helping us try out different things on the menu. We look forward to trying more next time!

The food here was delicious! I had the pulled pork with baked beans and coleslaw which was amazing, but my husband's briscuit was even better. The service was amazing as well. We walked in and my son who is a type 1 diabetic started experiencing a low. The waitress swiftly brought us a coke. We are extremely grateful to her.
